As co-founder and lead listing agent of Atwell Ford, Abby Atwell believes that the most important part of real estate is building relationships. She brings value to her clients through her deep expertise and insights into the real estate industry and her dedication to providing quality service. Abby is passionate about getting to know clients, understanding that every person, house and neighborhood are different. Whatever the reasons for buying and selling, she helps clients determine what they want and need from their real estate journey and works with them to achieve those goals.
Abby was born and raised in Winston-Salem in a real estate family. From an early age, she heard her mother and grandmother talk about real estate concepts and their insistence that the most important part of real estate was how you treated people. Though she said she would never be in real estate, Abby found herself offering local insights and real estate advice informally to friends and colleagues on an almost daily basis. In 2013, she decided to give real estate a shot, and a few years later, she founded The Umlauf Group, the precursor to Atwell Ford Real Estate. Her real estate endeavors also include running an Airbnb and short-term rentals, and she also owns and operates Rosales & Rose, the exclusive home-staging partner of Atwell Ford.
Abby and her two sons, Moses and Asher, have lived in neighborhoods all over Winston-Salem. Living in areas such as Ardmore, West Salem, downtown, and Country Club, Abby has grown to love the variety of personalities found in Winston’s locales. When she’s not attending hip-hop dance competitions and discussing Minecraft with her sons, they enjoy traveling to visit family in Florida or to snowboard for days on end. She also curates an impressive collection of headbands.
